Did the über-talented Keller Williams also cause the subprime mortgage crisis?

Im On A Mission

Finally...

I'm going to see Dispatch!

After buying my tickets for their show on October 8 in Toronto at a small, intimate venue called Lee's Palace, I will finally be able to cross one of my favourite bands off the list of those I have yet to see. There's a reason for that, but that's another post for another time. Maybe ill tell you the story some day.

The band's summer tour kicked off with a bang bang a few days ago at the by-all-accounts-awesome Hangout Fest, and will ramp up at Bonnaroo next weekend. The boys will actually be north of the border twice on this current tour, in support of their latest album, Circles Around the Sun, which will be released August 21. They hit Vancouver's Commodore Ballroom on September 20, as well.

Here's hoping some of the new stuff, old classics and maybe even a little of Chad Stokes' solo material makes into their live show - Coffee and Wine is a great tune. Either way, flying horses wouldnt keep me from this show.

Shaking off the rust

Folksy jammers Rusted Root have just announced their first Canadian tour dates in nearly 13 years, on September 11 (no wonder it's outside the US...) at Lee's Palace in Toronto, and at the Harvest Blues & Jazz Festival in Fredericton, NB September 13-14.Could a stop

RR has toiled in obscurity on the fringes of the jam scene for two decades now, first appearing on the scene with John Popper's H.O.R.D.E. festivals in the 90s, but a recent-car rental commercial featuring "Send Me On My Way" has brought them back into popular consciousness. Ok, maybe not, but it doesnt hurt to have a song you recorded in 1994 finally have some commercial success!
